India is a second largest populatIon country. In India all citizen has democracy for we are independent. And election is a backbone of Indian democracy. Now, we gone know history of election in India.

History of Elections in India

Indian Elections are considered to be the very important part of the Indian democracy. And also we say the backbone of Indian democracy.
The all citizens of India are trusted with the responsibility to choose the head of the country as well as of the state.

There are 2 types of election in India- General and State elections, that are held in the country based on the Federal structure of the Indian Republic.

● About entire nation are suddenly come to life at the onset of the elections, particularly the General Elections.
● In the assembly elections, which determine the state government. All state elections are closely observed throughout the nation. The state elections results, considered to be clear indications of the mood of the all citizen of nation.

History of General Elections

About the General elections that's held for the first time in 1951. In the first time House had a strength of 489 seats, with members chosen from the 26 states of India. Now, there a total of 545 members in the House, where the 2 unelected members as representatives of the Anglo-Indian community in India. A total of 543 members are chosen by the general elections.

The State elections in India are similar to the General Election. But it's chooses the members for the state assembly. The number of seats in the assembly or number of members in the Cabinet vary from state to state, depending on its size and population.
