The Ganga River is Dead. But How?

National River. The Ganga or Ganges is the longest river of India flowing over 2,510 kms of mountains, valleys and plains. It originates in the snowfields of the Gangotri Glacier in the Himalayas as the Bhagirathi River. It is later joined by other rivers such as the Alaknanda, Yamuna, Son, Gumti, Kosi and Ghagra. Yes, the Ganga river is dead. The Ganga river is one of largest river in one world. But, due to pollution of air and water the river Ganga, at some place in 'DEAD'. Just can not support any aquatic life such as plant or animal. In 1985, government of India started Ganga action plan to clean Ganga. But Ganga has become so dirty that the plan failed to clean it. According to World Wide Fund for nature the Ganga is the listed in top 10 polluted river in world.
